MagnaFlow Vintage 2.5 Challenge
 
MagnaFlow has announced an incredible free offer to VSRG members that compete in the 2001 race series.  Their statement reads as follows:

MagnaFlow will make available to VSRG members, mufflers and exhaust pipes from its inventory of cataloged parts at no cost .  The free parts will be provided to those members that are planning to enter their racecar in the 2001 race series.  To qualify, proof of the following is required:

While this is a great offer for VSRG members, it gets even better!  MagnaFlow even adds free installation and dyno runs to this offer!  That's right, free muffler, free tailpipe, free muffler installation and free horsepower testing on your racecar using MagnaFlow's state of the art chassis dynamometer.

The VSRG Photo Page has moved into the top 5 of pages viewed on the BSedan.Com and VSRG web sites. This is really quite amazing that so much interest has been shown in the photo section in the first full month that it was on-line.  We only have a few photos so we are asking again for car & driver photos as well as car and driver profiles and we would like a lot more. 
 
To save you some duplication of effort, we will forward your information and images to MagnaFlow for the free product requirements (above).  We can accept any common graphic image format if you already have scanned or digital images available.  Please send your photos as an attachment to an e-mail if possible.  Regular photos can be mailed to us however unless you send a stamped return envelope we will not be able to return them.  Our mail address is:

Vintage Racecar Journal & Market Reportis a relatively new (to some of us) monthly Vintage racing magazine that is available in a very slick print version as well as a complete on-line version.  If you have not run across this magazine before it's well worth your time to take a look at it.  They will send you a free copy just by filling out a simple on-line form on their web site (www.vintageracecar.com ). Look for this publication to follow the race series very closely next year and don't be too surprised if a 2.5 car winds up on the cover.

FIA Homologation and SCCA Recognition Forms are almost if not completely impossible to find.  We are in the process of adding a new section to the BSedan.Com website that will contain scanned copies of SCCA Recognition Forms and FIA Homologation Forms so that we can preserve this important part of our racing history.  We ask that anyone with such a form for any B-Sedan car (1966 through 1972) please e-mail, fax or snail-mail us a copy so that we can share it with other enthusiast.  The Contacts page contains all of our address info.
 
 
What will be racing in the Series has become a common question.  While not all VSRG members will compete next year, the profile of the membership might give us some idea of what cars to expect.

As you can see from the chart, there is a real lack of BMW's, especially considering their popularity in vintage racing.  We ask VSRG members that attend any of the remaining vintage events this year to spend a little time letting other sedan racers know about the next years series and let them know where to signup. 
 
 
The B-Sedan.com Message Board has been much more active in the past few months with members looking for cars and parts as well as people advertising items for sale.  There is no cost to use the message board and you are encouraged to use it to ask questions, look for cars and parts or to place items for sale notices.  The only limitation is that whatever is posted is Vintage racing related.  Click the "Message" option on the B-Sedan.com navigation bar to access the message board.

Clarification: We have had some inquiries as to why Porsche is not on the list of cars that will be allowed to compete in the race series.  Probably most of you are aware that Porsche was once classified as a B-Sedan car and raced quite successfully in the Under 2 Liter Trans-AM class.  In late 1970 the FIA and SCCA removed the Porsche from the Sedan class which means they were not eligible for the 2.5 Challenge which began in 1971.  Since our series is based on the 2.5 Challenge, not the Under 2 series, the Porsche is not an eligible marque.
